My Story

Art for me has always been my most effective creative outlet. My passion for the arts lead me to a bachelors degree in advertising design, with a concentration in fine arts. After undergrad, I was fortunate to work for a variety of creative houses, both big and small. I loved the people and pace of agency life, but I just wasn’t doing as much drawing as I would have liked. The subsequent, rambling job path that followed lead me through numerous career stints. I was a sculptor’s apprentice, newspaper layout artist, carpenter, bartender, and teachers assistant. While this journey was bouncy and often unsettling, it took me throughout coastal New England and eventually West. The people, places, and experiences along the way provided me with inspiration and further emphasized my ever-increasing love for the outdoors.

In 2015, I began my career at a local high school. I am now a full time high school art teacher, and to say I love it would be an understatement. I currently reside in New England, and teaching has strengthened my roots in the local art community. I continue to freelance whenever I have the time. While balancing both endeavors can be incredibly challenging and time consuming, I have found a wonderful balance between the two.

These days I work primarily in ink, gouache, and watercolor. Working digitally has opened up many exciting possibilities as well. While I continue to paint wildlife in my free time, commercially I specialize in hand-illustrated promotional materials and apparel.

Over the past severa years, I have been fortunate to design products and design elements for brands like: What The Fin Apparel, Badfish, Postfly, Outsiders, All I Need Skateboards, Narragansett Beer, Mayflower Beer, Chatham Bars Inn, New England Distilling, El Gato Grande, ALT Fly Fishing Magazine, On The Water Magazine, Pumphouse Surf Shop, Vinegrass, Perks Beer Garden, and Narragansett Surf and Skate.

I strive to create original arwork that reflects my personality and passion. I draw inspiration from the people, places, and activities that I hold dear.
